Conditions We Treat
Understand the source of your symptoms.
Neck and back problems can affect far more than the spine itself. Explore common conditions and symptom patterns, then learn how a precise diagnosis guides individualized care.
A Diagnosis-First Approach
The same symptom can have different causes.
Effective treatment starts by understanding where symptoms begin, how they affect your movement, and what matters most in your daily life. The goal is not simply to identify an abnormal image—it is to connect the diagnosis to the person experiencing it.
Neck Conditions
Conditions in the cervical spine may cause neck pain, headaches, shoulder discomfort, arm symptoms, balance problems, or changes in hand function.
Cervical Disc Herniation
A damaged or displaced disc may irritate a nearby nerve or compress the spinal cord.
Cervical Radiculopathy
A compressed nerve in the neck can cause pain, numbness, tingling, or weakness into the arm and hand.
Cervical Stenosis
Narrowing around the spinal cord or nerve roots may lead to pain or neurologic symptoms.
Cervical Myelopathy
Spinal cord compression may affect balance, coordination, hand dexterity, and strength.
Cervical Spondylosis
Age-related changes in the discs and joints can contribute to stiffness, pain, and nerve compression.
Neck Pain
Persistent neck pain may arise from muscles, joints, discs, nerves, or a combination of structures.
Back Conditions
Thoracic and lumbar conditions may cause localized back pain, pain with movement, or symptoms that travel through the buttock and leg.
Lumbar Disc Herniation
A herniated disc may irritate a nerve and cause back pain, sciatica, numbness, or weakness.
Lumbar Radiculopathy
Nerve irritation in the lower back can produce radiating pain and neurologic symptoms in the leg.
Lumbar Stenosis
Narrowing around the nerves may make standing or walking uncomfortable and limit endurance.
Spondylolisthesis
Slippage between vertebrae may contribute to instability, back pain, stenosis, or leg symptoms.
Degenerative Disc Disease
Disc wear can affect motion, load distribution, and comfort in the lower back.
Spinal Deformity
Abnormal spinal alignment can affect posture, balance, pain, and the energy required for daily activity.
Thoracic Disc Disease
Disc problems in the mid-back may cause pain around the chest or ribs and, less commonly, neurologic symptoms.
Compression Fractures
Vertebral fractures can cause sudden pain, progressive posture changes, and reduced mobility.
Low-Back Pain
Back pain may result from discs, joints, muscles, nerves, alignment, or overlapping sources.
Symptoms Beyond the Spine
When neck or back problems travel.
Arm & Hand
Radiating pain, numbness, tingling, weakness, loss of dexterity, or changes in grip.
Leg & Foot
Sciatica, leg pain, numbness, tingling, weakness, foot drop, or walking intolerance.
Balance & Coordination
Unsteadiness, frequent falls, hand clumsiness, or difficulty with fine motor tasks.
Posture & Endurance
Difficulty standing upright, fatigue with walking, or pain that changes with position.
Individualized Evaluation
Your symptoms are the starting point—not the entire diagnosis.
Many spine conditions share similar symptoms, and not every arm, leg, neck, or back complaint begins in the spine. A thoughtful history, physical examination, and appropriate imaging help identify the source and guide the right treatment pathway.
Move toward clarity.
If neck or back symptoms are limiting your life, an individualized evaluation can help define the problem and the options ahead.
